Drop-In History: Hair Art

Victorians turned hair into intricate jewelry and keepsakes, sometimes to mourn, sometimes as a token of affection, or because it was an in vogue craft. View examples of this delicate art form before enjoying coffee while learning the history behind some of the pieces and the art form from Curator Sarah Bader-King. Visitors will be among the first to see a new exhibit of hair art made from pieces recently donated to Wornall/Majors House Museums by Leila’s Hair Museum. This casual evening is ideal for artists, history lovers, and anyone who cannot believe that many people made intricate jewelry from hair.
