With your help, we serve 10,000 individuals annually through innovative and relevant programs and events.
We are more than two historic houses. Using the John Wornall House and Alexander Majors House and thousands of nineteenth-century artifacts, we create programs that go far beyond our four walls, inviting everyone to experience history without barriers.
- We provide free, no questions asked field trips for schools without field trip budgets, and never turn away educational event attendees for inability to pay.
- Our award-winning museum interpretation engages Kansas City and beyond with the diverse history of Kansas City in the nineteenth century.
- We partner with organizations like the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra to reach new audiences and share our story in a multi-disciplinary way.

50 for History – new in 2025!
All donors who contribute $50 or more in a calendar year automatically become Friends of the Museums! Friends receive complimentary tours of the Wornall and Majors Houses, plus free or reduced tickets to Wornall/Majors events.
