On August 28, 1856, Joel Lipscomb purchased Eaddy (40 years old), Patsey (15), Mary (20), and Mary’s children Lewis and Belle. He announces on January 17, 1857 that he is selling the enslaved people at auction in Westport to satisfy the debts of Dabury Lipscomb trust.
