Thomas W. Royster and Sarah A. Royster (married) sell an enslaved woman named Harriet (aged about 20, “yellow in color”) to John P. Flaumay[?] for $1. Harriet was previously owned by William Thomas as trustee for Hennrietta Scruggs, Sarah A. Royster’s mother, and coming from the Berry estate in Kentucky. The rest of the document contains a list of conditions for the transfer and ownership.
