Description

Garret Young sells two enslaved men: Jef (aged about 28, “a light black color,” and weighing about 190lbs) and Toney (aged about 32, “black color,” weighing about 150lbs) to David Waldo. Jef is currently owned by Garrett’s brother-in-law Thomas Young and Toney is currently owned by Garrett’s brother Van W Brooks. Garrett additionally sells 40,000 bricks to David Waldo upon the condition that last April 30th Waldo was security for Garret and Thomas for a $500k note. The deed will be void if Garrett and Thomas pay the note and interest.
