Johnathan B. Shortridge sells an enslaved girl named Fanny (aged about 6) to Gordon P. Johnson, for the use of Catherine Woodall. Gordon P. Johnson was engaged as trustee for Catherine Woodall by Jacob Johnson in a Bill of Sale of an enslaved girl named Emily dated Jan. 14, 1848. Emily’s children were potentially included in the sale, but it is unclear.
