Description

A story describing the attempted escape of two enslaved people (a woman, 35 and boy, 16) from the home of Thomas I. Wilson, located at Delaware and 3rd Streets in Kansas City. Wilson and his son attempted to chase a person alleged to be facilitating the escape, and Wilson fell down an embankment, crushing his arm and leg. The woman and boy claimed that several white people convinced them to escape, naming John Campbell of Westport in particular. They were taken to Independence to be sold South.
